March 17: Q

Photo: Guatemala, 2011

Just Cain't Win

Ain't quaint, she said.
But you are, said the other,
you're cute and unique.
No, no. I'm a crotchety
old woman wearing old
clothes I love, doing
whatever strikes me,
being just as I want to be,
she sputtered stamping
her foot. Oh yes, you
definitely are quaint,
no one's like you.

  1. I love it! An old woman CAN do just what she wants, has nothing to lose.
