March 5: E

Photo: Antarctica, January 2012

E is for Empty

This continent is empty.
Empty of trees, empty of
grasses, empty of land
animals, empty of people.
Empty of cities, of cars,
of politicians, of factories.
So many things that
are not here. A miracle.

E is for Early

It is too early.
My eyes are still closed,
energy still asleep,
dreams still flicker.
It's way too early.

  1. It is definitely good to have an area that is 'empty' of certain things. I won't mention what. LOL.

Probably your idea of too 'early' would be different than mine. LOL.

  2. "E is for Early" ....... that was this morning, wasn't it?

  3. Every morning feels to early to me lately, so I really identify with that one. And the world needs more emptiness of the sort you describe in Antarctica -

  4. Empty is the opposite of full. It is stark. Are there only two choices?

It is way too early, for sure, for morning sometimes, for mourning.

Thank you, Peggy, for poems for me.
